On-Demand Examination (ODE) is a unique feature offered by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) to its students. The ODE allows students to appear for the NIOS Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) examinations on demand, i.e., whenever they feel ready to take the exam.
The ODE system is an online platform where students can register and book their exams. They can select the subject they want to appear for, the date and time of the exam, and the examination center. The ODE exams are conducted throughout the year, and the students can take the exam within 5 years of the admission date.
The ODE system is particularly helpful for those students who are unable to appear for the regular NIOS exams due to various reasons such as health issues, financial problems, or other personal reasons. It also provides a chance for students who have failed in one or more subjects to reappear and clear their exams.
It is important to note that the ODE system is only available for the Secondary and Senior Secondary courses and not for the vocational courses offered by NIOS.
